Vortec questions

what do I need to hook up the computer in my 71 blazer. I just bought the motor it's a 98 5.7. if anyone has some info that be great.

No solid info, but I'd get a wiring diagram for the donor and figure out your power and ground situation to get it up and running. Then you can wire in brake light signal, neutral safety switch, VSS, etc if you want or need those inputs.

Do a search on the net under GM motor upgardes.
One this for sure--before you stick this motor into anything, BE SURE TO REDO the intake manifold gasket. They are notorious for intake gasket failure and it is a real PITA to replace when in the truck. Would also change the heater hose fitting on the intake as it is another know POS.
Othere then those 2 areas, the 5.7 vortec is super--as is the 5.3--Huck

I'll second the coolant leaks reseal advice. Super easy with the motor out.

i just did that in my 70 blazer. 5.7 and the computer and 460le trans u need the wire harness and the computer. Unless u buy a harness from painless with computer??
