Long beds, yes. Short beds, no.

Re: bed wood kit for fleetside
short bed fleets never came with optional bed wood...everything else did...up until certain years...which I am not 100% sure of what they are.

Re: bed wood kit for fleetside
Fat, it isn't rocket science to make your own from oak planks, but remember, they will be exposed to water from both sides so your going to have to finish both sides and especially the ends. If you DIY use a urathane laquer like Minwax. Sand the wood nice, EVERY SURFACE!!! thin the laquer 25% for the first coats to get it to soak in real good. 4 or 5 coats thined, then 4 or 5 more unthined. let it dry between coats so you can touch it and work warm, 70 to 80 degrees. Let it sit a month drying, then a real good coat of Butchers wax. Install and rewax. Any drilled holes will have to be laquered so drill them first before finishing and sanding. Then just wax it once or twice a year and it'll last forever. jim

Re: bed wood kit for fleetside
how do I install it and where do I get the stainless strips for between the boards...I had planned on DIYing it...just don't how to assemble it and how to mount it in the bed...doesn't everything on the bed, like the bedsides and the front wall, mount on the bed floor or can the floor be taken out with the rest of the bed intact...thanks...

Re: bed wood kit for fleetside
Fat, I didn't think about how the wood is attached in-so-far as whats attached to it. I just thought it laid inbetween everything and screwed down. As far as the strips go I would just get flat strips of stainless and reliefe cut the wood to fit. If you want factory look you may have to get the strips from LMC or Classic??? Don't know if either company carries them though. jim

kaos, can you just remove the steel floor, and bolt in the lumber?
what holds up the bedsides?

Re: bed wood kit for fleetside
no, most kits lay over the steel floor.

Re: bed wood kit for fleetside
I don't know if it is listed, but the owner told me that custom applications are not a problem with them.

Re: bed wood kit for fleetside
unless you can somehow hide the edge where the bed meets the tailgate, it's going to look cheesy in my opinion and not level with the tailgate when down if it's just laid on top...
