Apparently you don't understand what I'm saying....Thats OK!.....But, completed auctions, reserves not met, sold notices....they all mean absolutely nothing.......As the vast majority is completed outside of the auction!

Every single vehicle (except one) that I have bought or sold in the past 5 or 6 years I have done so using ebay as my single source....I just flipped a sweet little 69 Camaro that I bought & sold on Ebay....for a tidy little $9K profit...It works!.....Found the truck I'm restoring right now on ebay.....another smoking deal!

Hell...it's basically the same price to list a vehicle on ebay as it is the local newspaper or auto trader and you get 1000 times the exposure....

Oh....and as far as actual auctions that have went the distance on ebay and have sold through the actual auction....as of 04-08, there have been over three million cars sold through ebay!....thats a big ass number!

Not to get to far off subject but Rack Man makes a good point. I just recently sold my 99 TRD Tacoma for almost $2000 above Kelly Book value plus the buyer paid another $1400 to ship it to Ca.

Back to the topic at hand. That is a nice truck with low milage but with this economy I was wondering if it would meet the reserve. So far no...

Mark my words!....That guy will sell that truck.....It may take a little awhile as you need to find the right buyer for a vehicle like that....but it only takes ONE...If I was looking for a truck like that, I'd easliy travel 400 or 500 miles to go see it....I've driven further for a lot less...Would I buy it sight unseen....NO.....But I would consider having a friend from another state go look at it for me.....absolutly!

On the Camaro forum...it's pretty common to make a post asking a fellow member to go look at a vehicle for them when the car is out of state...I've done it for people and they've done it for me...

The thing that helped me was the Taco 4x4 only had 57,000 miles and I was the second owner. Always garaged and never taken offroad.

with Rack Man, I found a 56 Chevy Bel Air on E-Bay, went to look at it, paid cash and the guy ended the auction. I've sold 2 other cars 1 on Ebay and the other one, a guy made me a cash offer outside of ebay. The one I sold on ebay the guy drove from New Mexico to Riverside CA to pick it up.

Point taken!....Yes, it is great exposure!.....But they sell outside of Ebay for far far less than the reserve price is set for!!

3 million cars is a false number!....It isn't even that large when you compare it to how many listings have been placed on Ebay!....How many times have you heard someone complain that the buyer was a deadbeat, didn't show up, etc, even after it "sells"?!....

I found one of my trucks from a local advertisement!.....I got it at a way better deal than it would have been on Ebay!...
