WTB Big Block Heads

I need rebuildable or good to go 402 heads...Here are the casting numbers that I am interested in:

353049
3993820
3999241
6272292

All of these are "Open Chamber" and I prefer the last 3 but am open to the first 1 if that is all that comes up.

I have a set of 67-69 "Closed Chamber" casting number 3917215 for a possible trade?

Thanks, Alan

Re: WTB Big Block Heads

I guess those would work...do they flow better than the 402 heads??? What kind of condition and what are they worth...?

I am going back to stock except for a RV bumpstick...Even going to a factory low rise if I can find one in good shape.

Re: WTB Big Block Heads

3993820....71-84...oval...OPEN...454 Passenger and Trucks, 113cc chamber, 255/114 ports

3999241....72......oval...OPEN...402, 454, 113cc chamber

6272292....70-78...oval...OPEN...402, 454

Here are the 781's #'s:

336781.....73-85...oval...OPEN...454, 118cc chamber, 256/114cc ports

As good or better head, a bigger CC but a pop-up style BBC piston will fix that. LMK?

well It didnt work so that you could read it but with a hydraulic flat tappet cam, seat to seat timming of 15-53-61-19,lift-.453"/.484",lsa-110 they made a 427 with9.5-1 compression and 2.06/1.72 valves on the 1st baseline run max Hp348 at 4500 Tq491at2000 on the test #2 Hp 379 at 4500 Tq 494 at 2000 and with a vale change to 2.19and 1. 88 they made 408 Hp and 496 Tq then they changed the cam and pistons to 11-1 then did 2 more runs on the last run they got 491 Hp at 6000 and the Tq was 495 at 4500 this is with the 781 heads

Re: WTB Big Block Heads

That looks pretty interesting...Are you pretty savvy in camshafts...The reason I ask is the cams I am considering are: Kinda leaning towards the first one on the list...My truck is BB with 4 speed manual/4:10 gear ratio. Used to have T400 but tired of rebuilding them!

Competition Cam

1. HYDRAULIC-Strong low speed torque, good Hyd. Hyd. 800 to 4800 11-202-3 252H 252 252 206 206 .460 .460 110°
economy. Best in 396-402 c.i., stock
transmission & gear ratios. Very smooth idle.

2. HYDRAULIC-Good torque & power. Excellent Hyd. Hyd. 1200 to 5200 11-203-3 260H 260 260 212 212 .475 .475 110°
towing in 454 c.i. with manual or automatic,
3.73 or higher axle ratios. Smooth idle.

3. HYDRAULIC-Very strong torque, Hyd. Hyd. 600 to 4800 11-230-3 XE250H 250 260 206 212 .470 .475 110º
excellent mileage, smooth idle.

4. HYDRAULIC-Strong torque thru low & Hyd. Hyd. 1000 to 5200 11-234-3 XE256H 256 268 212 218 .480 .485 110°mid-range, good idle.

Thanks, Alan
