Starting to loose interest. What to do?

My c10 is done exept for suspension and disc brakes. I collected most of the parts alreday. Friday my buddy gave me a car. He's got a kid now so no time for it. I already made room in the garage for it. Straight 6 chevy motor and powerglide trans will be removed first to make it roll easier. Is it the same as our trucks? If someone wants the drivetrain they are more then welcome to pick it up, free. How do I keep myself from working on it and consentrating on a truck untill suspension is done?

i would say just keep your eye on the prize, your trucks looking great, one project at a time is alot easier than trying to jugle multiple things, then u start forgetting were u left off, what bolts go were and so on, just sit back and admire your new project while working on the suspension on your truck

I know it's hard to keep yourself from piddling with the new project. You will just have to keep telling yourself that you're too close to completion to lose focus. Your truck is looking awesome...I love the cab lights. What year/kind of car is that?

Have a 'work on truck' party over the weekend from sun up to sun down and get the truck done! Invite friends over and get the truck done over a weekend or two and after the trucks done, start on the car.

GREAT THOUGHT!!!!!

get one thing completed before you start something else (disclaimer: I don't live by this rule myself).

the car appears to be a '65 LeMans/Tempest/GTO post.

Re: Starting to loose interest. What to do?

just focus on the truck for now. just keep telling yourself that the longer that other project sits, the more cool ideas you will get for it, and it will turn out even better then if you just jumped in right away.

this fact maybe even true in some cases.

btw, beautiful truck

Re: Starting to loose interest. What to do?

You guys in CA, with your rust-free hulks laying around and room in your garage and buddies who just give stuff away.....y'all make me sick!

So, it does look like a '64-65 Tempest body. Since you're wanting to give away the engine/transmission, I'm also gonna guess 215 CID 6-cylinder and a powerglide.

Am I right?

Looking at the condition of that car, I am not sure I would call him a "buddy". There's a reason free cars are free.

Good luck and get back to work on your truck.

Re: Starting to loose interest. What to do?

It's a '64 lemans, no idea on the motor. I am getting it next weekend. Car last registered in '78. It was getting sandblasted in the desert for too long. No rust and the car is complete. My buddy took it all apart and that's it.
I can start on the body work and finish the truck. That's my plan. Here is a pic of the garage. Hopefully I'll have enough room to store it inside. Bike will sit outside.
