Can I tell what options, without SPID?
First, what is SPID? I think it's the sticker on the glovebox, but my sticker is gone. How else can I find out what options my truck came with?

Re: Can I tell what options, without SPID?
unless there is a build sheet behind/under the seat or a window sticker then I don't know how you would find out. I don't think GM has VIN history like that...they might.
There are some sheets that have ALL the options and you could just make a new one...

Re: Can I tell what options, without SPID?
for the most part, i have seen SPID labels missing on put together trucks mostly shortbeds that were once longbeds, and on 4x4s since these are the most desirable people will pull them so that they can claim they are factory when in fact they are not, but they have also been known to just dissapear over the years..good luck but the member chipflyer can make one up for you and will look just like new

Do a search on here for the Heritage GM phone number. With this phone number you can get a GM Heritage package that will have lots of detail about your vehicle.
I will try and find the number. EDIT: Try this number 586-276-0691

Re: Can I tell what options, without SPID?
The SPID (Special Production ID) is the label on the inside of the glove box that listed factory options that were added to your truck. Some trucks had a build sheet under the seat springs, below the carpet or mat or behind the gas tank that listed all the factory options added. If neither of these is available, the only other way to tell how it was originally optioned is to get the restoration pack that 72amyswbtruck is referring to, do a walk around the truck and compare the available factory options that are listed to what your truck actually has.

Thanks Andy, I stand corrected. That's the second time I have done that, I do know better but in a hurry to reply...

Re: Can I tell what options, without SPID?
I'll bet if nac593 posted some pics o
f the truck, we could probably come upwith a fairly complete list of the options on the truck. |
