I know I've been posting a lot but I have another question. I have a front crossmember out of a 1971 Chevy truck and I was wondering if it would bolt up to a 1966 1/2 ton truck?

I wanna put the front crossmember on so I can have disc brakes.

That would do the trick for you then

Rebuild it and youll have a brand new front end with discs under it

You don't have to swap the entire crossmember for the discs unless you want to do the extra work. All the parts that attach to the crossmember can/will bolt up to the current c.member already in your 66.

The crossmember under the truck has a cut in it. That makes me uncomfortable, and the other crossmember was free.

I don't know if the cut in the crossmember compromised the structural integrity or not but I'd rather not risk it.

I agree with you kid. Better safe then sorry. Structural integrity is a nice way of putting it.
