700r4 swap?????
Okay ,I want to take my 700r4 out of my 82 k10 and replace it with a 350 turbo . The truck is now sporting a 700r4 and a np208 tranfer. I know the np208 wont bolt to a 350 so heres my question , does anyone make an adapter or I'm I going to have to find a trans and transfer combo .

HUH???
Why do you want to get rid of your 700r4?
Seems like everybody including me is doing the opposite. We all want OD. I'm not sure but I think a 208 will bolt to a th350. I think they came from the factory this way on trucks w/o OD after 81. If not, i'm sure you could trade your 700r4 to somebody for a 205 that will bolt to yor th350. Hell, if ya want, I've got a th350/203 combo I'd sell you!!

I found a guy localy that will take a 2 wheel drive 350 turbo that I have and change it to a 4 wheel trans , build it and install an adapter for my transfer case That way I wont have to find drive shafts. Total charge 400.00

1981 K10 all had 350 trans and 208 transfer case, so a factory adapter should be easy to get, but am trying to remember if they used the 6" long tailshaft or made a special one for that year. I've done that conversion so I know it can be done, but it has been quite a while back. Check with a dealer and look up the length of the 4X4 trans output shaft compared with a 2 wheel drive model and see if they are the same length. If they are then all you need is the factory adapter between the 2.

Well my problem will be solved this coming weekend. I found a guy in NC that builds transmissions and he is bring me a 350 turbo and converter. He has install a kit that will bolt up to my np208 and I wont have to change anything. The best part is I'm trading a bunch of old trans cores and 3 engines for this tranny.
