I finally got her one color. 400 wet sand paper all around. I first tried black primer but with time it looks like a**. Bought some krylon flat spray can and layed it down. I think it looks pretty good until i can get some base coat clear coat on her.

so you used 400 gritt sandpaper on all the body,and what primer did you use?!? looks GOOD (i think) how long'd it take you? and what wheels are those?! what size that looks awesome! Good job! and did you paint your interior also or no? and how long'd it take you to get it paitned up like that? thanks and sorry for all the ?'s

Im in the military here in nc and i took it to the hobby shop and power sanded it with 220 and 320. Basically got all of the old stuff off. Bought rattle can black primer. That stayed on it for about 2 months. The primer started looking bad so I used 400 wet sand paper and bought $5.99 rattle can krylon flat. It says it on the cap. But you have to make sure its flat. Pulled it in my garage and painted it in one day. I tell you the rattle can does a number on your fingers. You just have to over lap the spray 50% everytime you make a pass. 18 inch cragar ss wheels. I just need to lower the truck 3/5 and get some real paint on it and i will be good.

What would be the issue? Im going to use primer sealer when i put the base clear on. Thanks

don't know.. just know that what's under your paint can come back to haunt you in the future...

by the way, they make a nice little trigger for spray paint.. works very well and saves your finger. well worth the $3 I paid for mine..

some guys use John Deere Blitz Black enamel paint as well...

im going to paint her in a few months and hit it again with 400/600 wet. getting primer sealer and base/coat clear coat paint. Hard to decide on the color. bounced back and forth between a flatz color, cobalt blue or a pearl silver. I like the color on this car and the paint scheme on the truck. Will cost me around $350.00

I thought I recognized a DOD decal on your windshield. Haha. Looks good to be rattle can applied. I would've never suspected so many large panels would come out looking so good. I love that Flatz idea. The rendering is beautiful. So $350 is going to be all inclusive paint, materials and labor? I think you should do the Black/Cobalt combo with either a silver or grey/gunmetal stripe seperating the two. Like I said, if it looks as good as that rendering it's gonna be tight. Keep us updated!

You n the military. Yea $350.00 should do it. Primer sealer and the clear will cost the most. Im doing it myself. I have sprayed quite a few cars. The hobby shop has a great facility. I pay just $50.00 to use the down draft booth. The black and blue is what i think im going with. The flatz black does look cool on the body lines. I have seen quite a few projects around here with it. Looks good on any vehicle if done right. Here is a pic i got back from photshop on this board. I asked them to lower it and paint it blue. Didint turn out ricght with the color cause my truck is dull anyway but the drop looks pretty good.

Well the hobby shop here at Fort Worth is junk! The two best I've seen were on Andrews (up near DC) and Oceana. Maybe...well, once I get a truck...I'll haul it out to you and you can teach me some skills. I look forward to see how yours turns out though. Looks like it's gonna be a winner.

Great job--I rattle can primed a couple of vehicles and they turned out great. That trigger handle does come in handy. Nobody likes a numb finger with a perm. button impression!

The Craft shop on Riley was outstanding. It was a little more expensive but for $100 bucks, the auto body shop attendant would spray the vehicle for you.
