Re: Fs- 1972 take-off tailgate nos?
We all have stories of shipping issues. I have a twin sister to this TG, that was shipped from CA in perfect condition. Package and pad them well, INSURE them and short of some idiot sticking a fork lift blade in it should arrive fine.

Re: Fs- 1972 take-off tailgate nos?
Would you know if the tailgate has the "chevrolet" behind the trim? If yes how much would shipping be to 59484?

Re: Fs- 1972 take-off tailgate nos?
WOW $845.00 for the eBay tailgate , I guess our trucks are getting very popular, 28 overall bids with the one on eBay. I recently bought an entire truck for that price! I never knew an entire tailgate in good shape went that high. My dad may have his in the attic

Sorry, This may be the same question but does that mean CHEVROLET is stamped on the outer skin? Im looking for one where I can paint the stamped CHEVROLET the same color as the top of the cab. Thanks.

That's it. You remove the trim band and paint the letters!

To bad this didn't go to a board member, but I'm glad to hear that you sold it.

Re: Fs- 1972 take-off tailgate nos?
An NOS TG, in the box, will sell for about $800...bare in primer. A TG like this is worth much more. Sometimes we forget it has new GM handle & hardware, new trim & new TG band. Those parts are worth bucks! Love that TG.

Re: Fs- 1972 take-off tailgate nos?
Just wanted to let everyone know that I received the tailgate and it arrived in perfect condition. Dan and I agreed not to ship it over the holidays so we waited till after the new year, I think that helped a bit.
Anyhow I want to thank Dan again for ending his auction early so I could have the tailgate. It took me awhile to decide that it was worth the money, now that I have it I know I made the right choice. |
