Re: Fayetteville, AR clean '72 stepper

Just checked it again, both by clicking the link for a direct-jump to it, & also by copying & pasting the link, & that's what I still am getting, same as before.

Also direct-searched Craiglist Fayetteville --- still got the same.

Don't know what's up, if yours is coming up different ?????

WEIRD. Doesn't really matter but when I go to CL it only has 3 pictures and 1 short sentence.

Re: Fayetteville, AR clean '72 stepper

Leevon, The add I see looks like 68shortstep's. I got some more pics from him, has rocker rust, cab corner rust and pass fender not sure about under the cab rust. Old Yeller 1970, for around these parts this truck is real good shape, if I had a swb 4x4 frame all ready this would be a awesome body swap or fix it up and drive it or drive it the way it is. 6 cyl doesn't bother me, it has PS and PB on it. I guess the older I get the more I don't need all the motor stuff just the stuff that makes it easier to drive

Re: Fayetteville, AR clean '72 stepper

To bad I bought my wife a minivan. I picked up in Fayetteville when I could've picked that truck up. That's a good looking truck. On a side note, Leevon, are there any good junkyards in NWA or southwest missouri. I need a few parts for my wifes 72 and my 68. I'm in Seligman, give me a shout sometime. It's nice having people with the same interests close by!!

Re: Fayetteville, AR clean '72 stepper

Joesjunk,

If you guys are in the area and feel like stopping in feel free (I'm about 5 miles off the highway). Also, if you don't make it Sunday and need somebody to look at the truck let me know.

Dying2Live,

I'm sending you a pm. I really need a junkyarding partner. I am not from the area, but the junkyards I've been to are picked through. I talked to a guy that sells 67-72 parts in Springdale last week and he said this summer his son and him took a week and criss-crossed to every yard from Fayetteville to Joplin. Didn't find much. The couple here close have a contingent of hmmm...well lets just say guys with no gainful employment acting like vultures waiting for anything good to hit the ground. Try finding a window motor or anything when you need it. There is one spot I know of near Rogers, it's been closed for awhile and there's some trucks there but the guy is hard to catch. I was through Seligman last weekend delivering some seats to Mitch Allen at A&R in Washburn. He stopped by and bought some stuff a couple weeks ago and I thought I'd take him his stuff and go see his shop. Nice folks.

Re: Fayetteville, AR clean '72 stepper

Well, I did pick up this truck on Sunday. A good friend of mine was looking for something like this, so we went down Sunday an bought it. Interesting truck, it has an original 6cyl, with factory p/s p/b and automatic. Its going to get a 5.3/4L60e and a fleetside bed. He should be starting on it right after the World of Wheels at the end of February. We will be selling the 6cyl and auto tranny, and also the step side bed. Ill try to get some better pics, these were take with the cell phone when we picked it up.

Glad to hear that it went to a great home. Be sure to get him to join the board and start a build thread.

What kind of shape was the I6 in? And a 292 or 250?

I told him he will have to join the board. He has been one of my best friends for over 30 years. He does some of the most incredible work. He painted my Black 68 1 ton, and has helped me with all my projects. He has an LS1 in a 71 Nova, and a 33 Ford. He also has a 5.3 in a wagon. He built the "Family Truckster" wagon that was on the Hot Rod power tour last year!!

The motor is a 250, and has just had a rebuild, runs good.
