carb seal

how do you tell if the seal on your carburetor is bad?....i was adding "seafoam" to my engine by pouring it into the carb and when i poured it into the back 2 barrels some of the sea foam came out the sides of the carb i guessing some where near the seal.

Re: carb seal

usually if you have the thing at idle and you spray carb cleaner at the base of the carb and it gets higher idle you have a bad seal with the carb gasket

you can also use a small propane torch, just turn the gas on and run it around the base, as old rusty c10 said it will idle up. this is also a good way of finding vaccum leaks. just dont light the freaking torch, lol..........
