Re: one piece window kit
I installed Brothers one piece window kit in my 70 last month. It went in pretty easy with not much headaches. I don't have any pics but can get you some soon. The front window channel gets bolted in on the bottom hole to the door via a sheet metal screw. The aluminum triangle gets bolted in with one screw where the vent window rivets used to be. The front channel lays in the triangle and then your channel felt goes into it. I ran the door channel weatherstrip behind the triangle to help it seal. I hope this helps. Sorry no pics right now, I'm not down at my shop.

Re: one piece window kit
if your referring to the part that goes where the old vent wing was it just attaches with that screw just as the picture shows.

Re: one piece window kit
try switching them end for end, my truck is in progress and I'm going to put those in and see what they look like, I don't recall having that large a gap. I'll take a picture and post it here so you can see how mine look.

Re: one piece window kit
ok guys, I actually had them on my truck already...man it's been a while since I've worked on Bookem. Here are 4 pics...the first three are the driver door, 3rd one being from the inside. You can also see the inside of the passenger in the 4th pic. Notice the gap is on the inside and not the outside. I think if you switch your corners you will be happy with the result. A little silicon will water seal it......no bubbles no troubles.

Re: one piece window kit
I have the directions if you want me to mail them to you. If I had a scanner I would just post them up for all.

Re: one piece window kit
the webrodder article is even better than the actual directions, imo
maybe for some reason I don't have that gap on the outside...not sure why. |
