Blazer Identification Question
Hello All!
I have a 73 Blazer that has K5/Blazer on the front fenders. The line between the K5 and the word blazer is yellow. The Build sticker in the engine bay on the driver’s side has some issues with it where it is hard to see some of the info. I have no other identifying badges on the truck. Inside I have a spot where an identifier should be in the front of the dash on the passenger side, it is gone. From what I am getting from books there are three possibilities for what badge should be installed in the dash. 1. Custom Sport Truck 2. Cheyenne Super 3. Cheyenne I really don't think there are enough options on it to be a Super. I am thinking one of the other two would be the choice of what it is. My question is: How can I figure out what the Blazer is? My goal is to get the correct badge for the dash. I have heard of just plain K5/Blazers before, but was hoping there is more to this. The Title for the truck doesn’t say anything either. I welcome some education on this. Thanks all, Respectfully

Re: Blazer Identification Question
What options does yours have? I have had 4 73-75's, and they have all been Cheyennes. All have had carpet, all three seats, padded dash, etc. I have never seen a Cheyenne Super Blazer. The early ones were either base or Cheyennes, at least to 75 that I know of. The Chevenne ID will be in front of the taillamps on the quarter panels, or at least there will be two holes spaced about 3" apart. I am pretty sure all of the dashes (pickups, Subs, Blazers) had a spot for the emblem. I think The Silverado package became available in 76 or 77, not sure which.

Re: Blazer Identification Question
it may be that the blazers were only cutoms or cheyenne
cheyennnes had the trim on the body, the tailgate band, a small emblem on the side, the emblems on the fender had a symbol below where it says k5, at least on the later models, they also had the sidepanels and pockets in the doorpanels |

Re: Blazer Identification Question
Hello Gentleman,
My Blazer has no trim or holes for trim. It has a padded dash. It has a black dash gauge cluster. It does have blue interior and the sun shades have blue covered material on them. It has original buckets and the nice blue console inbetween the seats with the Chevy emblem on it. No tilt steering. 1973 steering wheel. It has skid plates underneath painted white bumpers on front and back. No shoulder belts. Yellow front turning lights. No trim on light lences, all of them. There is a factory light in the engine bay, on the hood for when you open the hood. I will look at it hrder to see if there is anything else to raise a clue.

Re: Blazer Identification Question
longhorn70gmc,
Your options sound exactly like my 75 Blazer 4x4, minus the skid plates.. blue dash blue door panels and console back seat spare tire carrier white bumpers 350 4spd no tilt or ac. No emblems on the rear quarter panels at all No side trim roll up back window Well that is how it came from the factory anyway...

Re: Blazer Identification Question
I think some of that was available as seperate options, like the underhood light, etc. I do agree that they sound like Customs to me. Do you have any pics?

Re: Blazer Identification Question
I have pictures, but I haven't masterd posting them other then my Avitar. I found the word custom on the build sticker under the hood. It took a while to make out. I am starting to think it is a custom. The skid plates underneath would seem to be custom additions. I will have to post the build sheet info that I was able to read. I will try to get that on here soon.
