67-72 Doors

I need to replace a door and thought any 67-72 door would work, but I noticed that the repops are listed as 67-71 and 72. Why is this? Does it have something to do with the fit or the different interior panels in 72?

Re: 67-72 Doors

The 72 has the "dimple" on the inside below the vent wing... The 72's added an extra screw for the front track/vent window. Not sure if anything else is different... size wise they are the same door.

The door panels were different which requires different window regulators (long shaft I think)

Re: 67-72 Doors

OK, so if I want to use the parts off my 72 I would need 72 doors, but if I got a deal on a set that has everything then any 67-72 will fit. I hope I can find 1 or 2 72 doors out there. Sounds like that would be the easiest route. Thanks for the reply

Re: 67-72 Doors

I don't know what happens if you put 72 guts in an earlier door... all I think if different is that one screw "dimple" under the wing...

Re: 67-72 Doors

72 doors had the plastic door panels which are thicker than the metal door panels, therefor the shafts on the window door regulator are longer. So the regulators in 67-71 door wil not work if you use72 door panels

also a 67 door in different on the inside where the 67 only exterior handle mounts.
