Bedliner over Dynamat??
I want to put down some dynamat and was wondering if spray on bedliner would stick to it. Anyone ever done anything like this?

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
I haven't ever herd of anyone doing it, but I would think spray the bedliner on then put the Dynamatt down over top of it.
Is there a reason for doing it as you suggested? ![]()

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
I would think the same thing, spray liner may not stick to the dynomat quite as good as to the bare metal.

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
I'm also curious. Why are you even putting Dynamat in the bed? I can see the spray in liner, but why both.

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
if you're thinking bedliner is good insullation it's not
there are spray insullations such as lizard skin made out of a ceramic space shuttle type of stuff that you can spray the cab with and then put down dynamat for additional insullation

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
This is not going in the bed. I am thinking of doing this to the cab. I am not big on carpet, but I was thinking about having bedliner sprayed in the cab. I was wanting as much soundproofing as possible so that's why I was thinking about putting down the dynamat.

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
I put dynamat in my cab, the surface of the product is very smooth, and I'll say slick to the touch, so bed liner spay to stick to it, I dont think it would, but hey i dont know everything

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
i doubt it will stick..bed liner needs groves to be able to stick.. say you take it to a bed..if you dont scuff up the paint and just spray it you go to a car wash it will chip out on you... im thinkin the same thing on the inside that over time your feet would eventually chip it out.....just my .02

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
It won't stick... I've worked for Rhino Linings and they definitely won't guarantee a spray like that. Probably can't even find a guy to attempt it...

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
What about doing bedliner on the underneath of the cab that way it acts as a rust preventer as well. And then do the dynamat on the floor of the cab on the inside. The dynamat is pretty strong we had a truck in out shop that had it all over the inside and with three 12's pushing hard and you could not hear anything outside and no noise coming from the outside when the system was turned off. Its just a thought.

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
just do the bed liner on both the bottom and top of the floor and forget the mat all together

When he said bedliner, I assumed (ass out of you and me, hehe), he was talking about the bed. That's why I was wondering......

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
That sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the input guys. I have never had any experience with dynamat or the spray in bedliners so I was just trying to find some good soundproofing. Sounds like the bedliner both in the cab and underneath will do the trick.

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
I have done this to my cab I sprayed the floor inside and out with dp90 then I put the dynamat down on the inside Then I sanded the dynamat with 40 grit and sprayed the floor with boxliner. When I was test fitting my seats in the truck I drug them across it and there did not seem to be any problems with adhesion I am covering my floor with carpet though. Check out my build pictures for pictures of it http://67chev.shawwebspace.ca/

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
Personally, I'd go with a good sound proofer and top it with a stock style rubber mat. Far more comfy and would help obsorb vibration sounds produced inside the cab. Also if you change your mind, it's removable.

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
wouldn't the dynomat flex causing the spray bedliner to crack? i would think this would be the case. especially in cold areas of the country. probably less so in hot areas

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
Never heard anything about the stock rubber mats. After all the advice I am not going to spray bedliner over dynamat. I will just use the spray in bedliner in the cab and underneath.

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
Here's my .02
My buddy had the entire floor of he trail jeep sprayed and it seems almost sound proof. It's nice b/c he can just spray it out when he gets mud in there. My rec would be to spray the inside, see how it sounds and then decide if you want to spray the underside. That way you aren't spending more than you have to.

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
Maybe try this brush on sound deadener: http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...products_id=53
And then spray on bedliner over that. |

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
I am gonna probably use a DIY bedliner on the underside and have it sprayed professionally inside.

Re: Bedliner over Dynamat??
There was a burb on CL that was bed lined, he said it works like a charm and everyone asks what it is. It looks ok. It washes really easy though, and mud practically falls off.
