so are the planks counter sunk on the edges so the aluminum strips just drop in? That's a pretty slick alternative to the kits they make. And any pics of the frame work would be nice, but I get the general idea.

Well its been awhile since i have had anything worth posting. Finally got my paint done!! This was the first time i have painted anything so it was quite a eye opener for me. I can see now why professional paint and body work costs so much. I Still need to get the rims blasted so i can paint them and the door panels.
They will be the same color as the roof and dash. Hopefully they will be done this week and i can start reassembly!

Yes, The strips are flush with the top of the boards. I cut a 1/4" dado on the edges of the boards.
I should be tearing the wood back out this week so i will get some pictures for you of the bed frame.
