I should have alot more time to work on my blazer now

I got laid off yesterday from Union Pacific Railroad. It was just a matter of time seeing as how it was getting so damn slow but hopefully it won't last too long. I do have a CDL so maybe I can go drive trucks if anyone is hiring. School districts are always hiring so I could drive buses I guess.

Re: I should have alot more time to work on my blazer now

Sorry to hear your bad news.

The economy is very scary. I just bought out my business partners before the economy crashed here in the Seattle area. I'm scrabbling to find more work since my house is collateral for the SBA Loan.

Re: I should have alot more time to work on my blazer now

Yeah, thanks everyone, i'm gonna start applying everywhere immediately. The police department is hiring and I don't think there is a job out there with better job security than that, at least that's what I hear.

Re: I should have alot more time to work on my blazer now

I've heard that customs/boarder patrol is hiring too. I don't know how close San Antonio is to the boarder, but not all the jobs are actual patrol jobs.

Sorry to hear of the job loss. It hurts when you haven't done anything wrong but get blindsided anyway. Good luck.

I think I have plenty to do on my blazer (body panesl, frame repair, AC install, body mounts, suspension, tranny/xfer case seals, wheels/tires, top repair, so I think I can keep busy)but thanks for the tempting offer.

I feel your pain. As you know I am in the same boat. Now that we have time, we have no money.

I also work for Uncle Pete and I am back to switching.......I sure hope business picks up soon or I will be out of a job too. I could always sell my blazer when I'm broke at least! Just kidding!
