Re: A little 4link help (Inner bars)

Send me a PM and we can talk about it.

It sounds like you are on a budget? If so, you can probably turn your existing upper link bars into a wishbone with a little work.

Re: A little 4link help (Inner bars)

Ok, after alot of thinking i decided to go with a wish bone. I would like to just make my own, but im not sure i can do that correctly with the link bars i have. My bushing ends on the bars are welded strait on and all the wishbones I see have them at the correct angle. Will it work the way i have it? Or will i have to try to cut the ends off and weld them on the correct way. Also is it possible to use a bushing or do I need a super pivot? Also is should it be the same angles? (35*-45*)

Re: A little 4link help (Inner bars)

I prefer the bushings to be parallel to each other. It will work the other way, but it will bind a little through travel, and wear your bushings out a little bit faster than it should. It takes a long time to wear poly out though unless it is binding really bad.

The amount of triangulation doesn't matter so much on a wishbone, but the wider you can keep the bushings, the better control it will have.

I prefer to use a pivot joint, or rod end on the single side of a wishbone. I feel it's the only way to build one without it binding.

Here is one I built this morning.

Nice work. You sure do a lot of Toyota's. I didn't think they were that popular any more.

Ya I seem to do more import trucks than American. But cars seem to be the opposite. Never worked on an import car.

Re: A little 4link help (Inner bars)

Too much difference in the angle of the bushings. If they are not parallel they will always bind. A small angle difference and they will still move, too much, and the angle is too severe for them.
