Rearend/Panhard Bar Questions - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hello All

I'm busy cleaning up my 69lwb from the cab back. Took off the bed, going to paint the frame... I order the Super track bar kit from ECE as well as their shock kit. My question is, with the new bar, do I need to maintain the old mounting spot on the rear end next to the pumpkin? I pretty sure I don't so how do I get it out? BFH? Is it just pressed in there? I've included a pic of what I'm talking about. Thanks for the help.

You will no longer need it. Yes...a BFH is your friend for this operation!

Right on. I was givin it a few taps, but didn't want to open up on it until I knew if it was still needed or not.

I still need to get mine out as well. When your done with yours your welcome to come over to SC and do mine too!

Take the nut off, and then give it a good twist with a pipe wrench and it will come right out of there.

Good advice on the pipe wrench, and my east coast tour is next fall! I'll let you know how the removal goes, which for me usually means bloody knuckles. No blood usually means I haven't tried hard enough.

If you make it down to SC I will have a cold one waiting for you. Either here in Liberty SC in the upstate or at Garden City on the SC coast you can pick.
I have places in both.
I'm always looking for a reason to go down to the coast.
I need a bigger pipe wrench!

My Driver Seeing the USA in a 71 Upstate SC GM Truck Club 2013,14 and 2016 Hot Rod Pour Tour http://upstategmtrucks.com/ Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun! It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
