seat belt mounting points?
Hello everyone how is it going? I live in okc and have a 1968 gmc lwb and I did a seach and maybe I didn't do it right but I couldn't fine a thread or topic on mounting a 3 point seat belt. My truck has a plastic plug on the pillar where the upper door frame and the back window meet, is it possible to mount a shoulder belt to that. Just wondering cause I need something to mount my sons car seat in safely. thank for all the great info you guys provide and with out this site I would be lost, thanks again, and have a good day!

hey bud, that plug you are referring to, is made for a Shoulder Harness set up. If you remove that plug, you will find a threaded hole for a proper sized bolt. There was an option of a factory type shoulder harness, but they are one if not the hardest option to find for these trucks. Trevor

3 point belts are a great upgrade. Here's the ones I got: http://www.classicparts.com/47-59-an...ctinfo/28-071/
Buckle side is a wee bit short which could be a problem if you need to move the bench seat forward. I'm 6' though, so they work O.K. In retrospect, the buckle side could be extended with a piece of steel at the mount.
