8 lug to 5 lug rear end swap
I plan on changing my C20 to 5 lug running gear and have a line on some parts, I was just wanting to know how much extra work we're lookin at.
The 5 lug rear end is out of a 70's nova: will we need to move the spring pockets?? or does anyone know if they will bolt up. The front is out of an impala and we know there will be some fabricating to do in order to make that work. (both of these are out of his old stock car) Any input and info would be great as to how much more of a headache this will be, or if I will luck out. I want this monster to move and this front/rear end combo is already rebuilt with racing components and can handle some power. Thanks again! |

Re: 8 lug to 5 lug rear end swap
my bad.... It's a '70 C20 2WD with leafs in the rear and coils in the front. It's all doable, I was just wanting to know if it's going to be more on the easy and painless side rather than expensive and gong show like.

Well I dont know what the width of the nova rear is, but the most you would have to do that I can think of would be relocate the spring perches & depending on where the brake line runs & parking brakes
As for the front you would have to ask someone that knows about putting a nova clip under a truck |
