Re: Color Ideas

My favorite non-basic color is the gun metal blue metallic found on Volvo's a few years back.

Re: Color Ideas

Well here's my 2 cents. I wanted mine to stand out. Mabey I went a little overboard, but I like it. It's color coat\clear coat. Base is black then there are 2 coats of heavy metalflake followed by white perl and a bunch of clear coats. It does stand out, really sparkles in the sunlight and at night when I drive under certain types of mercury or sodium vapor lights it shimmers in a funny way that makes the paint look as if it were moving or flowing. Hard to explain but it is cool. I have had many positive comments so far. A few HATE it, LOL. What do you all think? I want to get pin stripes put on, any color suggestions? I thought mabey an iradescent lime green or similar color. Thanks, Jim

Re: Color Ideas

Having owned trucks of many different colors, I have found the lighter colored trucks to show dirt less. Darker trucks look nicer when clean, but require more mainatence to look clean.

Ironically the truck that got the most compliments dirty or clean was a red one. It's amazing how red with a little chrome looks sharp even if it's dirty.

Hey Jim,

Man, That's one sweet paint job !!!

I think a iridescent lime green Yenco style stripe would push that thing over the top.....

Re: Color Ideas

Thanks for the complimment Rob. I think your right. Lime green pin stripe will just top it off nice. I have other stuff to do first, saving money for that now. When thats done, I'll save a little more and get it pin striped. Jim

Re: Color Ideas

What color interior ? Will it be kept or replaced ? That's usually the deciding factor in color for me.

Re: Color Ideas

I like the red one. Two tone red top , black bottom, silver pinstripe maybe...just a suggestion. Single colors look very sharp on duallies.

I was just making a joke, I probably won't do a "real" paint job for a year or so. For now mine will be rattle can until I get my garage set-up right.
