C20 Running Hot
Took the 1966 C20 out for a little drive today maybe a couple miles. I noticed it was running hot. When I gave it more gas it would sputter and hesitate then die, it will idle fine though. What could be happening?

Sounds to me like your timing is off.

Re: C20 Running Hot
Several things can cause an overheating condition.
1.Low coolant level 2.Stuck thermostat 3.Clogged or dirty radiator(inside or outside) 4. Low oil level An extremely hot motor can cause the fuel to vaporize before it reaches the jets in your carb, or can cause a vapor-lock condition in the fuel line.

Re: C20 Running Hot
Well I replaced the thermostat and then it was still doing it. So I thought it could be the fuel filter. I took the fuel filter off and blew it out. I got a good amount fine dirt came out.

Overheating, or sputtering? If it's overheating see above. If it's sputtering, have you cleaned or rebuilt your carb? Have you checked your spark plugs? Have you checked your air filter? Have you Checked Distributor cap and points (if applicable) Do you have a weak battery or dirty cables? Give us the motor size (I-6, V-6, V-8) Might help us narrow it down for you.
