help with tilt column.

Hey, Guys got a quick question. Will a tilt steering column with cruise control and int. wipers swap out for same tilt column with out cruise control? My truck is an 84 the other is an 86 'burb. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

Motly, it should swap out ok. Just take the signal light switch lever out of both colunms and switch them over. All the wireing for cruise will come out with the switch. All you will have to watch out for is the INT wipers. If both trucks have it you shouldn't run into a problem. If you have a problem your going to have to swap the wiper switches out also. Fortuneately, if you have both colunms you have all the parts you need to make it work. A little mix and match mabey but it will work. Done hundreds of tilts. Mine is built from 5 different colunms because it's a stick & I didn't want that stupid locking lever on the left side to be there but I did want the wheel lock to work with the old shift bowl so it looks cleaner. jim

1984 K20 350M engine with 465,000 miles. Well, it's finally done!! Almost 2 years of work, but it was really worth the effort. Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.
