Bad rust. Not what I wanted to see

The good news is this is all of it. The bad news is, it seems really bad to me. I will have my work cut out for me. I knew there was some on the floor corners, but the dash sent me for a loop. Lucky thing I have a replacement dash.










I'm not in a real big hurry to fix this, I plan on doing the chassis first, then the drive train, then bodywork last.

One question I do have though, I know there are patch panels for floors, but are 'Burb floors different from truck floors, and are Panel floors different from 'Burbs?

That is only 3 or 4 hours total work. And it would be sweet.

Cut it out, weld some patches in. POR-15 it.

Sandblast the dash. The epoxy paint it.

OR scuff off the rust with a wire wheel. Then POR-15 it. Good as new.

NO way would i sweat that little bit.

yep very much like the work i did on my floor. It wasnt that big of a job. I actually used some scrap metal i got from a freind and just cut out all the rot on my truck, then welded a patch over all area's then put alittle fiberglass over the seams and rust inhibitor, primed then used undercoating on it.

i had the same problem. check out my build thread. i have some pretty good pictures of how i cut it out and repaired it. i got rid of all the rust,

Well, sounds like it's not gonna be that bad. Like I said, I'm going to concentrate on my chassis first, but maybe I'll dabble with this a little in the mean time. I guess overall I am fairly lucky in the rust department. Whoever did the undercoating did a nice job. The majority of the underneath is still pristine once the undercoating is scraped off
