6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
Looking for pictures of how you guy have your power steering pump mounted.
I have the pump and all the brackets but not sure how they will all fit. Specially since I will be running an aftermarket Intake and headers. Thanks in advance!

Re: 6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
Tallcountry... can you list out the parts required for the addition of PS to your 250? I'm throwing around the idea of adding PS to my '69 but am unsure on the parts I would need.

Re: 6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
If you just need a pic of the parts required, check my post above (#3). There's a picture of all the parts needed. Best bet is to try to find a 6 cylinder vehicle in the 70's. I got mine off an El Camino, but have see them in Chevy Novas of that vintage also. Try to find one with a non integrated head.

Re: 6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
That will be awesome! That's what I was looking for, a spread out shot of all the required pieces.
Thanks TC, 68 and Livrat.

Re: 6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
Nate,... if you look at the P/S "pump" bracket,... you can see the difference in just these two styles, shown here. The best bet would be to buy a complete set up off of the same engine. I'll keep an eye out for a set for your 250 6-cylinder.
I'm also collecting P/S photos on my laptop.

Re: 6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
Now.... to add to this, has anyone ever seen a motor with a smog setup and powersteering???
Thanks for the info Keith, I will take a look at the pics further and then compare them to TC's pics he's going to post.

Re: 6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
Okay well this is not really a list of parts but more of a picture of what I have and hope it's enough to get it going.
Notice in the background is the power steering gear box I bought from teeitup. Got the power steering pump and all brackets for free since I bought a 12-bolt rear end with 5x5 bolt pattern from a salvage yard in Texas. I hope this helps a little bit. Will take more pictures once I have cleaned and painted all the parts. There is one more bracket that is not pictured, but like I said will take more once all are assembled.

Re: 6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
Your main lower mounting bracket looks to be off of an "intregal head" 250. (although not positive)... the non integral and integral head mounting bracket do not interchange.. here are pic of a complete integral head setup..
I also have a non integral head lower bracket that I will get pictures of later today and post them for you.. |

Re: 6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
Yeah those look totally different from mine.
Looks like I may have the wrong brackets then. Rats!

Re: 6 Cylinder Power Steering Setup
Thanks for getting the pics TC, and hopefully those brackets will still work out for you.
