Yeah, what too much stuff said. You would be further head finding a pickup cab. All had small back window, too. Does it have any options? Some came with buckets and tach(lot had black interior, too).

Re: Any 1970 C-50 Owners, I have ?'s

I am buying it regardless, just trying to figure out what to do with it if I have problems with the trans, or rear end in the future. I also bought a 1969 1 ton chassis that had been extended, but has no title? I can put it to work either way. 650.00 for a good truck that runs is too good to pass up! I bought the C-30 for 100.00

The cab is different than on pickups. I compare the 2 on my old '67 C-30. The cowl and firewall are totally different and the steering wheel and front fenders mount differently. However $650 sounds like a great deal for running truck if you need one. Great find!

What engine does it have?

All the big trucks had small back windows. It should bolt onto the 69 frame, you may needs to modify some stuff though, not sure what though.

It has a later model 350/ 4 speed w/ a 2 speed rear...I own a small construction company, I can ALWAYS use another truck !!!! After looking at your '67 Wrecker, I may cut off the spring perches and move the rear forward a few feet, I like the BIG rig you have, that's a tow truck !!

I actually sold it, but it was a hoss! I bought 11 school buses and several other big med duty trucks that I scrapped out and I bought it move them with. I made a lot of money with it. It a massive 20,000 lb military winch on it. I had some approx. 70 yr old Holly bushes around the house that had overgrown at some point, and after spending about 2 1/2 trying to dig one I decided to get my redneck on and pull them up with the wrecker. It worked great! I pulled up 12 of them all around the house.

I guy at local junkyard kept hounding me about it, and finally offered me about 3 times what I had in it, so I let it go. I do kind miss having it around sometimes. I had a 292, 4 speed with the 2 speed rear.

So where is the section for useless posts? That's where most of yours would go.

The cowl is way further back to accomodate the big L6 Cummins and Detroit diesels that some of the got and the cowl is different because the wheelwells are further back than a pickup. The hood and clip are much shorter on these trucks than pickups. The doors are technically the same door, but the front corner is "clipped" off to clear the front fender. You can see it in the pics below.

AHHH, I see now . Thanks for the info....

Has anyone seen one of these used for a car hauler? I alsobought a C-30 with an extended frame that I will have to get a title on and planned on building a flat bed car hauler out of it. I guess I could dove tail a flat bed on the C-50, I think it might be a little overkill for a car hauler though

Car haulers, not that many in the big trucks, mostly 30 series, but here are a few big ones.

These are the only ones I have ever found in the big series.

Re: Any 1970 C-50 Owners, I have ?'s

It would make a great car hauler, but my '69 C-30 ramp does just about everything I need it to. I would recommend 18'+ on what ever you do. There's been several times where I wished I had an extra foot or two longer on the bed. LWB trucks hang over a little, and I wish it was at least 18'.
