Evil Eyes

My H4 Halogen conversion headlights had an extra bulb for peanut bulbs. I grabbed and orange LED piece from www.superbrightleds.com that slid into the peanut bulb holder, wired it on a little toggle, and tah-dah:

Sinister horror movie lookin'.

Re: Evil Eyes

Those pictures remind me of the filming effects in the movie Sin City.

So badass! Do all the halogen replacement headlights include the peanut-bulb feature?

What one did you buy? The single LED bulb with the cone shape in the lense ain't bright enough, but the X5 one, which has 4 LEDs around the diameter, and one on top is just right. It's also clear so their hard to notice when off. Wire them in parallel so their both running at a full 12v. In series each gets 6v and barely lights up.

Gumby- I'm not sure if they all do, but I got my off of trucknvans.com if I recall right. Good price too! skip the included bulbs and go buy new ones from else where.

Re: Evil Eyes

brad man, while these lights will help brighten up the path, you'll get better results from doing a relay conversion on your normal sealed beam halagons.

Re: Evil Eyes

i migh have to look that up, but i like the idea of having a really dim headlight alternative, like a 6v headlight for cruise ins.

Sealed beams won't be as bright as these 9003 bulbs. Even with the relay conversion I figure it wouldn't be as bright. Not to mention much less hassle to change bulbs.

Brad, the H4 conversion lights come with a normal peanut bulb that looks pretty good if you want a normal color dim:

I got mine at www.trucknvans.com

Re: Evil Eyes

So these are the ones with the Peanut bulbs correct?

And what # (i.e. H4, 9003, H11 etc.) identifies the Peanut bulb used in this application?

Re: Evil Eyes

I can't tell if that one has it. This is the one I ordered:
http://www.trucknvans.com/Traditiona...d-p/wi-hl3.htm

You'll have to cut the adjuster bucket to clear the socket though, bit of a PITA to get right.

9003 is the specific bulb, you use this number when looking to buy one at a store.
