I have NOT used this kit but mine is very similar. I used the front brackets, the rest were other stuff.

My experience: 1/2" line is FAST and almost uncontrollable. Big tank for that compressor...a pair would be better. I used dual 400c. They fill the tank quickly for its size. Ive driven about 10 miles to my buddies house adjusting the suspension(not clowning) and it never kicked the compressors on. I like the big tank.

So what your saying is that kit would be good if it came with 2 compressors and 3/8" valves.

I've used there similar kits in other vehicles, with different brackets. They get away with running one Viair 380 with a seven gallon tank because they give you a 145 psi pressure switch instead of a 200 psi switch. The 145 psi switch greatly slows down the lift. To slow down the speed of the drop I put 1/2 pipe plugs in the dumps with 1/8" to 1/4" hole drilled in them to slow down the dumps. Upgrading to a Viair 380 dual pack & the 200 psi switch will make it lift a lot faster, if looks are not a concern & cost is you could order the kit with there " Big Unit" compressor & run a 180 psi pressure switch.

Dude, that's a deal if u ask me. I have 1 viair 380 and a 7 gallon tank just for the front of my truck. It works pretty good. You can always add another tank and comp. next year. Get it and you will be rollin on air soon.

Yeah, I wouldnt hesitate using this set-up, but those would be my choices. The 3/8's line would be a little better control-wise and the 2 compressors would help fill time. If your not impatient to leave somewhere, the fill time is no big deal.

By the way, my dual 400C kit uses the 145psi shut-off. I dont see how going faster up could be 'better' at 200psi. If I hold my switch down to raise the truck, I bounce around inside like driving over a speed bump.

I dont know what you're putting this on, but if it has a panhard bar (63-72) you will have to deal with clearance issues on the pumkin.

It possible, but why. If you want the speed of a 1/2" valve that's cool. If your going to reduce it to 3/8" flow, why not just by 3/8" valves?

Because that kit comes with 1/2" valves and not sure if the vendor would switch them out for 3/8".

I probably will but I think its gonna be easier for me to piece a kit together. Plus I just sold my wifes bike which only leaves me with the truck and my bike so I need to finish it before starting on the truck.

Sometimes companies put together package deals because they bought a large quantity of certain parts. Usually they will still offer a decent deal if you "downgrade".

Yeah, get the bike going first so you have transportation while you work on the truck. In the meantime buy parts as you can afford them.

I actually bought that same kit. But with 1/2 valves and just 4. You can call up and they can take out or substitute things in the kit. I almost wish i didn't because all i ended was the bags and front bag brackets but its fairly cheap.

Just put those valves on a 91 long bed. Even at 130psi I feel like they're a little much. If hopping is your thing then great, if not I'd go 3/8. Sometimes bigger isn't always better.

Thanks for backing me up on that BACKYARD88.....thats how I feel too. I have about 8-10' of hose to the front and its fast. I have about 4' lines to the rear and its violently fast.

They won't switch them out for 3/8" valves for you, because the valves they carry do not come in 3/8". They use Blitzluft. Personally, I do not like Blitzluft valves. I do not sell, or install anything but ASCO. And I believe their 3/8" valves are the same price as 1/2" Blitzluft.

One 380 on a 7 gallon tank is too small. I would run either two of them, or even better a 480 dual pack.

Those switch boxes are too bulky for my taste.

The general setup that leaves my shop is this:
(2) 380 or 480 compressors.
(8) ASCO 3/8" valves
(1) 5 gallon slim tank OR size of choice
(1) AVS 7 switch controller
(1) 145 PSI pressure switch
(1) Stinger Inline fuse
(1) Stinger 80 amp relay for both compressors
(1) 3/8" line and ASCO push to loc fittings

I would look at assembling a setup similar to that. You will probably spend a little bit more than that kit above, but I think you will be happier in the long run.

I also order the fittings I need based on what I want. I usually don't build a valve setup the same way, so I make a list of what I need, and order it. I don't like getting fittings from Home Depot or Lowes because they are low quality and high cost. If I need something last minute I use NAPA, but only as a last resort because the quality is there, but so is the expense.

Also, I prefer Contitech or Firestone bags. Convoluted up front, sleeves out back.

Thank you twisted minis, that is exactly what I was looking for. I will buy it piece by piece and one day be bagged. Just wish I could get real low without x member and bed mods. Figure with my 2 1/2 drop spindles and a c-notch will get me by though.

I'll also add this, the FBI switch box we recieved is very low quality. The switches stick and seem really cheap. The valves don't fill evenly every time and even stick on occasion(this set up is only a month old. And last but not least the kit comes with compression fitting, which I hate using with plastic lines. Push loc is the only way to go.

I hate push lock fittings. All the big truck manufactures are going that route now. It's a pain in the arse to remove the airlines when they've been stuck in there for 300,000 plus miles.
