Anybody have any good detailed pictures of the process of smoothing the firewall? I've already sealed up the holes but I'm curious about how to smooth out the top lip and make the passenger side symetrical to the drivers side.

look for builds by 68 short step, he has done this alot (Killer71 and the hulk truck for sure)

you may want to check the build section

alot of people are shaving their firewalls now
it shouldnt be to hard to find someone doing it

Tigman, what are your plans for the recess in the firewall that the engine set back into?
We are at that stage on ours, but not sure which way to go. We considered modifying a wheelbarrow and also custom building one from sheet metal

Wheelbarrow works great! Along with rounded edge for the transition.
