Hears a scan of the factory drawing that was used by the factory for assembly from (1967-1972 CHEV/GMC Truck Factory Assembly Instruction Manual) maybe this will help you. When this option was first used I do not know but this drawing shows it modified a previous seal installation on 9-8-70. So if I had to guess when this option was available I would say 1970 to 1972.

I would defiantly recommend this book to any one that wants to see what the factory did for installing the parts and wiring. The only drawback is the book does not have an index to find what you are looking for or modification made during the years. You just have to go thru it page by page to find what you need. Wes (a site vendor) at Classic Heartbeat has the book, he lists it as (67-72 Factory Assembly Manual) http://www.classicheartbeat.com/books,_vidio,_cds.htm
