Ramhorn Exhaust coatings

Well it looks like powder coating isn't a good option for stock cast iron exhaust. I'm switching from old headers back to stock. This is a driver not a show project, but if I'm going to put them on I want to make them as resistant to rust as I can... Looking nice would be a cool bonus!!!

So what other options are out there? Post pics if you have them!

I've seen ceramic on some builds here, but seems expensive.

POR15 seems to turn out pretty good.

What else have you seen?

Re: Ramhorn Exhaust coatings

POR 20 all the way. 3 colors to choose from. I have had it on my rams horns for 4 yrs now, and my truck is a daily driver. Still looks brand new. Make sure you prep well. I used a wire-wheel, and then used the zinc phosphate wash that POR 15 sells as well.

Re: Ramhorn Exhaust coatings

the 8 oz can is enough to do way more than 2 manifolds. I have one can and have done several pairs of manifolds, an entire exhaust system, and several master cylinders and heat shields/stove pipes. I still have a few drops left in the can too

Re: Ramhorn Exhaust coatings

I buy mine locally from a distributor. You can also order from them direct, and on Feebay as well. The price is set by the manufacturer, so no need to look for the lowest price.

Hey Ledd,

Do you have a pic of your manifolds?

On the web site they have a kit. Sounds like a good deal!!!

I'm gonna get mine blasted then try the kit...

Re: Ramhorn Exhaust coatings

Thanks,,,

This board moves so fast I didn't see the thread yesterday. I did a search a few days ago and then when I heard back from Kevin about the powder coating I went ahead and started this.

Sorry for the double folks!!!
