"Z" ing 62 frame

I am planning to z the frame on my 62 C10. I notice it has a square frame where i am going to cut it. I thought most of them were channel. Since it is already a box, can I just weld gussets in the z and plates on both sides? I plan on a c notch also and it has brace on both sides as well.

Thanks
Michael

'62 was the last year for that style of frame. Yes you should be fine with plating both sides and adding some gussets. Post up some pics....

I will try and take pics this weekend. Just bought a 79 donor truck for suspension. Found one I can drive home for $300 bucks. I figure I can sell what I don't need.
I was wondering if you can cut the x brace out of the back of the frame? It would give more room for bags.
