What shocks to use for 5/7 drop

I am sure this info is somewhere but I am not finding it. I need to get some shocks to work with my 5 inch front and 7 inch rear drop. Anyone have part numbers? Thanks in advance.

Need info for the front shocks. I want a decent set. In the past those drop shocks that you can buy are junk. I have blown up a few of those on other vehicles.

Shoot those list are for the 72 and earlier trucks. I need some for the 73 thru 87 trucks. I have tried monroe's website and its super complicated.

Re: What shocks to use for 5/7 drop

They use the same shock up front.
Just match up the shock with the amount of "spring drop" that you have.

Try Belltechs website or call Summit Racing.

Re: What shocks to use for 5/7 drop

I don't think they will have a shock for my application as it is approx. 8 inches dropped in the rear. I am still working on the front. I arrived at my measurement by taking what is the supposed stock height from the wheel arch and measuring to the ground. so stock should be 34 inches and I am sitting at 26 inches.

Re: What shocks to use for 5/7 drop

Tire size will change that measurement.
What do you have? Flip kit and a shackle? Use a drop shock for a 6" drop (flip kit), with a shock extender. Do you have a c-notch in the frame?

Re: What shocks to use for 5/7 drop

I have the c notch I just haven't installed it yet. I haven't driven the truck since installing the flip. I need more hands to get the bed off.

I forgot the tires would make a difference. I checked and I am 1.5 inches lower with the tires. So it's 6.5 inches lower cause I have the shackles with two sets of holes in them. It almost tucks the tire now! I was shocked when I set it on the ground. I am going to move it to the other hole for the full 7 inch drop tomorrow.

I emailed Monroe Shocks for some info. I will post it up as soon as I have it.
