Just ordered my dropmember!

All,
I just ordered my dropmember from Porterbuilt! Can anyone recomend some good 3 inch drop spindles? Also, what parts would you guys recomend? I am going to stand by for the Porterbuilt Control Arms, but any and all info on other parts would be greatly appreciated.

I agree. I have had several sets of DJM 3" spindles and no problems to speak of.

Re: Just ordered my dropmember!

The DM narrows the track width. I don't think drop spindles would narrow it anymore though.

I ordered my C4 DM as well. Can't wait to get mine in.

that depends on your control arms.

Re: Just ordered my dropmember!

also depends on what brake rotors you plan on using... I dont remeber the years but they switch between 1" and 1.25" somewhere in the 70's or 80's... or maybe thats just th heavy half ton? I dont know, it was soo long ago that I did all this stuff. and about the track width. I think I remember that te belltech's push the wheels out further then stock and the djm's either narrow it or keep it close to stock... once again, I cant remember exactly what the deal is...

Re: Just ordered my dropmember!

You need to call Nate to make sure what setup your are getting. I believe, but would double check, his new setup requires 73-87 lower control arms and that would be a more economical route to go because 71-72 spindles are almost a third more expensive (you save about $100).

I bought my spindles (DJM 3'') from Godfather Customs and I negiotiated them to $220 shipped. Make sure that you insist that they send you that particular brand because they will send you Mcgauthy spindles. I sent them back and then got the DJM.

Lastly make sure you what size rotor you are running.

Re: Just ordered my dropmember!

Personally I like the ECE spindles. I also know Nate Porter advertises with ECE because he believes in their stuff and that says a lot to me!

Re: Just ordered my dropmember!

If you have the "new" Dropmember V3 you have to use 73-87 lower stock control arms or aftermarket tubular arms. (The uppers can be 67-87)
You might as well run 73-87 drop spindles also. Just make sure to get the correct spindle for the correct width of rotor you plan to use. (either 1" or 1-1/4")

Pretty much depends on what your plans are for the truck

Just as a rule of thumb I like Slam Specialties RE-7s in the front & RE-6s in the back

You will either need a switch box or some sort of electronic controller to control your valves

You will need valves, how many depends on what you want your truck to do & what kind of valves you get

If you are just cruising you wont need a very big tank or compressor, but if you wanna play with it, obviously you will need bigger better stuff

Also air line size, valve size, & other things depend on if you wanna play with it or just cruise

So just figure out what you really want out of your air ride & prolly start a new thread to get more replys
