So far we have removed the orignal 350ci and turbo 350 and body.

Looked like a pretty clean truck to start with! I will be watching your build. Can't wait to see what it looks like when you get done. What color are you going to paint the body? ...Joe

I will be painting it a candy blue. It is a Gm factory color that belongs to the new GTO.

Re: 1972 Chevy Cheyenne 3/4 4x4 Project

Let me start with saying the body work SUCKS!!!! I am so tired. Things have slowed down over these last few weeks. I have finished stripping the old cab of all the things I needed and took it and the bed down to Early Classics for store credit. They have been a great help.
So here is what we have been able to get accomplished...

I have cleaned and sprayed the frame with a protective coating by 3M.

I started spraying primer on the cab, and doors.

We have also installed the 337ci Small Block Chevy Engine, new Turbo 350 Transmission, NP205 Transfer Case, and 40 series Flowmaster exhaust system.

I already have another update coming as soon as I get the pictures on my computer. Heres a teaser for you ...Lets just say that I'l be driving the truck next weekend.

Re: 1972 Chevy Cheyenne 3/4 4x4 Project

Ok we are almost finished! Tomorrow the truck will go down to Automatic Transmission Center to have the new tranny to be repaired. I received a defective tranny. So i have to let them fix it. Anyway here are the most up to date photos...

I should be able to drive it around the block tomorrow!!! Oh and by the way the engine sounds awesome!!!! I finished primering the bed on saturday along with installing the new glovebox. Today I ordered my new wheels, tires and shocks. I should get all of that by friday. I will have pics of all the lift kit and tire/wheels by this weekend for ya'll.

Cool project. What will you do to address the steering with 12" of lift? Who is making your springs? What gear ratio will you be using in the axles? What tire size did you finally decide on? Man, I sure have alot of questions!

So after drive my baby for its first weekend out, I blew my head gaskets. Not my fault!! Its my dads fault for not realizing that the engine needed all new gaskets.

I will be posting phase two "Lifting my 72 K20" in the 4x4 threads.

I'd just like to thank Stan, Mark, Jeff, and Terry at Early Classic Enterprises. This project wouldn't have happened without them and there help.
