Started working on the '71 Fleetside bed - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Well, Gary and I started working on the bed and tailgate for the '71. We found a couple of places that needed attention on the drivers side and Gary pretty much has them under control. Have it all primed now and will get started on the paint shortly. I will post some pics of the paint we have done tomorrow night. I also have a couple of pictures of the '47 Chevy PU that Gary is building that I will post tomorrow. He actually has it completed but I don't have any pics of it finished at this time.

What brand and kind of primer are yall using on that?..it lays so smooth man it looks like glass...

Thanks OARNGESI, It will be the nicest truck I've ever owned when we're done with it...

chevy29267truck: Someone had worked on the wheel opening in the past and screwed it all up. There is a small groove around the opening and it was basically missing in a couple of places. Gary took a punch and chisel and put the groove back in it and finished it out. It came out really good.

heavy71chevy: You know, I've been looking at that can almost everyday for two weeks and I can't remember the brand. It is a Urethane primer but I'll have to check who makes it tomorrow. The color is called "Buff".

I didn't get home until 10:00 last night so I didn't feel like updating this, I will do it this morning.

heavy71chevy: The primer is Autobody Master Urethane #8441 (Buff)

Here are a couple of pictures of the parts we have painted and a couple of pics of Gary's '47. They are scanned so they are not good quality. Like I said he has it all together now so I will have to get some updated pictures. Sorry about the dust in the bed I will take more pictures when I have it cleaned up....
