'67 fenders & bed question.

I have not been working with these trucks for that long. I was looking through the LMC book today, looking for fenders. I need '67 style fenders, The ones in the LMC book have no marker light cut outs. Is this something normal? Can I use the '68 fenders that have the marker light cut outs?

Also what about the '67 style bed do they have marker lights in them or not? I like the look of the markers on these trucks, but have not noticed any differances in the marker lights, on the trucks I have see around. Mabe because none of them have been '67's?

67 and 68 both have the same style front end/grill.

however 67s dont have markers front or rear whereas 68s do.

you can interchange between the two, so if you have a 68 front end you can go to 67 fenders, or vice versa.

So will I get in trouble here in CA for not having maker lights on the '67 we are building?

considering 67s never came with markers, no you wont get in trouble. and considering 99% of cops wont know that a 68-72 was supposed to have markers or the fact that they just wont care, you wouldnt get in trouble either.

You might want to see about locating some original GM fenders.
Or at least ask folkes on the board about the quality of the ones you are thinking of purchasing. Some folkes say that the fit is better on the original ones.
I would personally go with the 67's if it is in fact a 67 model truck.
Cleaner lines and less explaing to do.
I would think that you could use either without any problems from the state. People switch out beds and fenders and stuff all the time.
Now a Vin tag would be a different story.

Have fun
