Fuel Tank sending unit
Got a 77 chevy scottsdale and need to replace the sending unit on it. It's mounted on the passenger side. Do I need the 2 outlet unit or the 3? (I don't have the truck with me, but would like to have the part when I pick up the truck) Also - Since I'm going to be down there anyway, would it be beneficial to replace the fuel pump? Not sure how long it's supposed to last..

Re: Fuel Tank sending unit
Depends. Standard half tons with light duty emissions have the 3 tubes. Big 10 or Heavy Half trucks with heavy duty emissions just had 2.

Re: Fuel Tank sending unit
You only need two really, one for breather line (could be routed to charcoal cannister), one for fuel to pump.
My 76 silverado had 3 on the passenger side with dual tanks. I dumped the drivers side as it had a leak and no proper filler hose opening. Trashed the cross over hose and extra wiring (related to tank switch) underneath and ran new hose to pump. Hope that helps.

Re: Fuel Tank sending unit
I've already ordered the 3 tube unit. Are you saying that either would work in my case? (Single tank passenger side)

Re: Fuel Tank sending unit
Yes, either will work. Since you ordered the 3, you can plug the 3rd with a hose and bolt.
