Last Week i bought a '71 C10 . Maybe it is a GMC , i dont know . The VIN says it's a Chevy , but the Grille and the Tailgate say GMC .

The Truck has Leafsprings on the Rearaxle like a K-Model ... I'm confused !

Fortunately the Truck has no Rust (okay , a little bit) and runs great ! Drop Springs in Front are too short for our bad Roads here in Germany .... but it looks great !

On my To-do-list : New Paint (black and white) , new Chrome , Wood for the Bed , new Bench and a longer Ratio .

Thats pretty cool to see across the pond. I was in Germany for two weeks a about 5 years ago. beautiful country. Loved it over there. Wouldnt mind living there.

Nice ride

Looks like it has a 67 tailgate and A custom grill area 69 up hood without the crome top bar looks nice. Just gave me a few ideas

Someone liked the look of the grill and/or tailgate and swaped them out. If the vin says Chevy, its a Chevy.

The Front Bumper is from a G20 Van , the Corners are cutting off . I like the Look of the GMC Front , but it's rusty and a new one is very expensive here .

Why do i have Leafsprings on the rear End ?

You could get leaf or coil springs in the rear. Commonly the GMC's had leaf springs and Chevy's had coils. However, you could get both with either.

Sounds like you have a chevy with optional leaf springs. Some one added a 71/72 GMC grill and fenders, and a 67/68 GMC tailgate. It is interesting how they did the custom piece between the hood and grill. I kinda like the way it sits personally... but if the roads are bad, i can understand wanting to raise it back up.
Germany is a place i have wanted to go back to for a long time now. I was born up north in Bremenhaven, but we left right before I turned two... I don't remember much at all, just little fragments. I almost got a chance to go when i was in the army, but had to decline since I wouldn't have been able to take my family with me.

The leafs on the rear were optional, it's considered a heavy half IIRC. Like a 5/8 ton truck. If you wanna get rid of the grille let me know

no, it was not a heavy half. GM never called 67 - 72 trucks that. They were still rated for the same payload as coil trucks.

That truck is nice and someone put it together.What is that on the driver side inner fender,an identification plate?A factory vin# in`71 wouldn`t let you know if it`s a Chevy or GMC without research.It wasn`t until`72 that GM added a letter to the front,"T" for GMC and a second "C" for Chevy.From what I see,it`s got what Longhorn Man said as well as a`72 bed.Do your doors have the`72 dimple/screws?

Thank you all ! The Plate on the inner Fender is a typical german Identification Plate , it shows the VIN , the Weight and the max Load of Front- and Rearaxle . The VIN is CE134S123652 .
Tomorrow i'll beginning with the Restoration . First Step is to disassemble the Truck .

Edit ... sorry , but what means "Mellican" ? Sounds a little chinese ... like "My Name ist Petel flom Gelmany"
