parking brake release lever

what holds the lever into release assembly on the gear assembly? is it a C clip? i cant remember. i pulled it off months ago to fix something on it...now i don't remember what goes on that thing to keep it from popping out and dangling around.

Plastic plug if you mean the actual handle going to the lever release.
