Well i picked up a lil 96 Blazer last night, 2wd 4 door....4.3 auto...98,000 miles.....Seems to be a great lil ride...Perfect interior ,The price was right and its in pretty good shape....NO rust, (was a Texas Truck)....Just a minor fender bender...In the front....No big deal.I will say its slammed on the ground....the guy told me it has 4cyl 3 inch coils and 4 inch blocks in the back....Way to low....And it rides like crap.lol..........Hey any of you guys running 4 inch blocks.....Get that dog track feeling when you nail the gas?????????? This thing does it like grazy,bout jerks the wheel out of your hand......I have not got underneath there yet and made sure everything was nice and tight U-bolt wise .Or to make sure the spring bushings are good.........But it does not seem right to me....?? its not going to stay this way,i think i will put the factory coils in it up front...And just do a 2inch block in the rear................Will get some pics tomorrow..........Tony

Swap out the rear leaf springs for some Belltech 3" drop leaves and whatever block you want. Normally 3" block is the max. Keep us posted. I run a 5/6 drop on my s10 daily driver.

Thanks......So this (twisting) feel i get is Normal? with this size block....IF so....IT sure is a junk design.....I think i will do just a 2 inch block to level it out.....This is going to be a daily driver and hauler.....so i want a comfy ride......

Twisting is NOT normal. Do you have some pics of your rear suspension. Maybe the PO removed some of the leaves. Plus with a 4" block there is plenty of leverage/ axle wrap back there. Removing the factory rear bumpstop along with their metal frame mounts will help with a rough ride. Pics front and rear suspension would help. Thanks.

Yeah pics of the suspension would be helpful because something doesn't sound right. If you put factory springs up front ,use stock 4cylinder springs it will give a 2" drop with the 4.3.

I have 4" blocks on my '96 pickup with no twisting problems. I also had 1 leaf removed but now put it back in for height & had no twisting issues then either. That front is WAY low. Are you sure it doesnt have spindles AND 4cyl springs? Just for a comparison, heres a pic of mine with 4" blocks & one leaf pulled in the rear & 2" spindles plus 1.5" Xtreme coils in the front...

Corn the spindles are stock.....And i ran the belltech numbers off the front coils.....They are 3 inch drop coils for a 4cyl.......I reinstalled the factory front coils and pretty much everything up front new......I did not want to put money in this right away....But my wife and child will be driving in it.....So what ever it takes.......I replaced....Both coils...both rotors,brake pads, inner/outer wheel bearings.(dustseals)and calipers and new shocks....As far as the rear....From my tape.....the rear blocks measure 4 inches at the rear of the block......And there are 3 leafs out back with an over load.....The shocks are all but totally worn out, Which today i bought....As far as the twisting...? In the A.M i am going to Replace the rear rotors,calipers,pads.inner/outer wheel bearings.(dustseals)Got new shocks...And i am going to make sure all the U-Bolts are tight...? the only other thing i can think of as far as the twisting goes is,,Maybe a leaf has a worn out bushing.? or that the U-bolts are not torqued down.......IF this all checks out....I will just put some 2inch blocks in and go from there..........I will take pics in the A.M for before and After shots......And maybe you guys can point something out that i dont see????????? its been about ten years since i dealt with a S-series as far as lowering.......And i remember doing a 4inch block with no issues.........So i guess l will see.......The pic i posted above is just way to low......

Make sure the leaf spring "pin" is seated in the block and the block "pin" is seated in the hole on the rearend saddle. I've seen cheap aluminum blocks actually corrode away in the pin area,... allowing the rearend to shift forwards and backwards. Keep us posted.

A couple other things to check that might cause your problem... Im pretty sure the 4 door Blazers are like the extended cabs & require angled blocks to correct the pinion angle. Also make sure the drive shaft isnt pushed into the back of the trans. Lowering too far will do that & could cause some problems. I have a set of DJM 3" (V6) springs & a set of 3" angled Bell Tech blocks if you decide to keep it low...

Well i got the twisting figured out....(see pics below) seems the passenger side block was not only broken but the ( pin ) was all but missing....? both U-bolts was pretty tight....I am not sure of exactly how this could have happened,but it did.....Anyways, I knew i had some 2 inch spindles left over from a previous vehicle it just took about 2 hours to find them.They was buried in the Shop attic....At any rate...i found them got those put on, and then moved to the rear....I had some 2 inch blocks i never used along with new U-bolts. Also installed some new shocks....It ride alot better now....But future plans will be with some 1 inch front coils in the front,and a 3 inch block in the back.....Anyways here are a few pics....of before and after....And then the carnage of parts...........

Change the intake gasket and FI spider as soon as possible.

Well the wife has been on me for some time about putting some new rims and tires on her Blazer....So after a few weeks of searching I found a set of Center Lines that she just loved....They are a little dated for my style...But she loves them......They were in pretty good shape when I bought them last week,no curb rash....Just needed a little polishing.........The tires that were on them were way to small(205/60/R16......So I headed down to Sams Club and picked up a set of 225/60/R6s..BFGs.........I think it turned out pretty good.......
