Did these trucks have a 5 lug option in 70-72
Well today i went lookin around outside of town and found a yellow 1970 chevy custom 10 longbed in a yard.
to make the story short I ended up buying the truck for 500 bucks ! Barely any rust Original color still looks good and a good strait body. But the truck is missing the motor and trans it had a 350 350 in it but they're long gone, and its 5 lugs all the ways around. Im goin to use the bed for my 68 4x4 then fix the 70 up well enough too get a few extra hundred bucks out of it : ) oh and were the 5 lugs original ?? sorry no pics y'all camera broke.

5 lug was first used in 1971. sounds like a good buy and ya gotta get pics up, it's like feeding time in the zoo. we're viscous.

Yeah, what he said. If it has 5-lugs on all four corners then one of two things is going on....1. It's not a '70 (it would be a '71 or a '72). Does the VIN match the title? 2. Someone changed it over....does it have disc brakes up front? Discs came out with the '71's.
I'd be making sure the title and VIN match. If not.....

I believe it's possible GM factory floor had started cutting in the 5-lug parts near buildout of the 1970 MY, but don't have any documentation to substantiate it. More likely, the parts have been swapped out with 71+ pieces, where were indeed 5 lug.

Re: Did these trucks have a 5 lug option in 70-72
ahh sorry bout that i meant 1971 i got confused because the owner kept trying to tell me it was a 70 but i said no cuz of the 5 lugs..lol
but yea its got disks up front thats why i was asking the lug question. I knew i was right ha! . I wish i could get some pictures I'm goin to pick the truck up tomorrow an see what happens. the nose which is a 70 nose is taken off the truck and the bed is full of fenders and a million other parts. but everything is lookin pretty good : ) His son has the title so we should get it tomorrow as well.
