Well, I haven't owned an 80's vehicle in several years, and thought it was about time.
I picked this truck up a few weeks ago, and got it for a song, I think. The guy I got the truck from paid more for the wheels and tires than I bought the whole truck for.
Its an 86 Chevy, K10 Silverado, 350/700R4/NP208, I think it has 3.08 gears, and the SPID does not show a posi, so I think its a one wheel wonder. I have never owned a step side truck, so I'm not sure quite yet if I like the look. I was shocked that it has dual tanks, as I didnt know the short beds came with dual tanks. Truck needs a little attention, the front drive shaft needs to be rebuilt or replaced, needs the typical gaskets and seals replaced in the drivetrain. I'm not too worried about the body yet, due to the fact that my wife and I got it to go fishing and hunting, and I wont scrath and beat up my DD.

What do ya think?

Also, Does this look correct?

The angle doesnt look correct for the trans to transfer case. I can push up on the trasfer case and get about 1/4" of play.

look's like a good project.i think that's tweaked.unless the camera angle's goofy.

I'm not up on the 81 up stuff, but something's wrong with that t-case mount. There should be no play in there. Also, that square channel "shim" does not belong there . It may be something as simple as the wrong crossmember in there (my guess).

Thats a good line right there. It looks like they may have tried to use the wrong crossmeber as I can't see why they would shim it like that... Interesting

The square tubing is not connected to the crossmember, although it looks like it in the picture.

The tag on the T-case says 208, and the mount bolts up to the transmission in the correct holes. I thought there was supposted to be a mount that helped hold the weight of the transfter case. Without it I would think that either case would be prone to cracking.

Does anyone have any pictures of their np208 in the truck with correct mount?

BTW, the camera angle is a little goofy, but the trasfer case does hang down farther than it should. I think I might look at the bolts from trans to trasfer case before doing anything else.

yeah they offered a "strut" peice that helped to support the transfer case. I don't have a picture because I don't own any np208's but maybe some one else can help
