Quick question about tires.

Ok so I got some new tires today. I got the same size that was on it.

They are 215 /70 /15 the problem is they are rubbing at the tire rod end connection.

So my question is for an original front end setup what size trire and wheel should I have. I looked in the shop manual and it says 6.00-16 to like 8.25-18 so not real sure what to do here.

thx in advance.

Re: Quick question about tires.

I guess it couldn't hurt to add that I am talking about a 1947 Chev Pickup 1/2 ton Thriftmaster.

Re: Quick question about tires.

I did a quick google search and 215-70 R16 seams to be as close as you can get to the 6.00-16. I would think the 15" size would be close also (I guess not they rub). Would you be able to run a 1/4" spacer up front? Are you rubbing all the time or only at full lock?

Re: Quick question about tires.

Have you asked over at the Stovebolt forum? The place is dedicated to old Chevy trucks up to '73. Mostly geared to '30s, '40, '50s iron.
