New guy
Hello from the state of NH. My name is John but they call me JC. Don't know why , but they do. I've been here for 8 1/2 years. I moved from sunny Calif. and remarried. I have 3 daugheters and one son. 9 grandchildren. My project is a 58 3/4 ton that has been in the family since 62. Many great memories in her with my dad. I am not sure if i am going to 4x4 it or slam it. I do know that a small block and automatic is the way iam going. Iam looking here for a 1/2 ton front axel set up now. I don't want to change from the Ibeam axel. I have a question on the motor mounts. If you use the stock front mounts,on the front of the block, do you have to make some for the back of the block? I know you can use a trans mount on the tail housing, but wat about where the block meets the trans. Any and all input is neede. Thanks

Welcome to the board. The rear is usually supported on the bell housing by a cross member. If you want to suspend it at the rear consider using a side mount on the block. There are several companies that have kits that move the mounts to the frame and let you use the 3 holes in the block. Larry
