Yes

Looks like you have 2 extra leafs. I believe this is a heavy duty option from the factory (don't quote me) but I have seen this before with the dual shocks. I don't think it was a dealer add on but I have been wrong before.

You have a couple extra leafs. GM did offer a front quad shock option on 4x4 K10 & 20's starting in 1981. My 83 K20 had them. Yours appears to be after market.

I've seen 3 different setups for the front flat leafs: 2 leaf (1/2 ton), 3 leaf(3/4 ton), and 4 leaf(I'm assuming for 1 ton). I've a 4 leaf setup but they were all tied together....looks like yours was added after?

Well, my '72 K20 came with two front leaves per side...

the OP's is an '82, so.... :dunno:

Yeah, I probably generalized too much with that post. I think you could option however many leafs you wanted. Smarter people with straighten us out...

I've had a half dozen K30's and they all came with 3 leafs in front. On my plow trucks I added a 4th to them. Some of my K10's had the heavier 3 spring option.

My K-10 has the HD front suspension package. With the flat leafs I would say you only get 1/2" or so (thickness of the leaf) of lift.

My replies in this thread deal with square body 4x4's. Here's a pic of my old K10 plow truck. It came with the 3 leaf and I added the bottom leaf to help with the 8.5' Pro Plow.

Yeah, I know. Bummer and the truck only has 300,000K! It's sitting in retirement as I slowly take it apart. It's been replaced by my M1008.

I just went through this and ordered new front springs. All the spring companys only list two springs for our trucks the two leaf and three leaf. Some also list a add a spring kit which my truck already has.
