Long bed step side

I just spent awhile going through the "Post Your Ride '67-'72 Trucks" sticky and didn't see any long bed step sides. My original plan was to chop my '71 down into a shorty step side with a '67 or '68 front clip, but i think a long bed step side would be really cool. Does anyone have any pics of long bed step sides?

X2.5 If I were you I would keep the LWB stepper as you just don't see that many on the roads. Hey...who wants to be like everybody else. Don't get "short" changed...keep the LWB stepper. JMHO

Re: Long bed step side

Actually it's a fleet side and i was going to chop it down and put a step side bed on it. I saw a LWB step side bed on craigslist (still waiting for him to e-mail me back) and got to thinking a LWB stepper would be cool and most definitely different.

Re: Long bed step side

I have one.
Of my 2 trucks, I like it a bit more than the LWB fleetside.
It's nice to be different.

Sorry, but I don't have any pics available, yet.
Maybe someday.

Re: Long bed step side

I went out & snapped a couple of quick pics.

My trucks are "working" trucks. Nothing fancy; go to the lumber yard, haul a load to the dump, etc.
I DO NOT help people move; but they can borrow a truck if they need one.

Anyhow, I had a couple great friends come over last Sat. & they helped me
R & R the front clip.
I still have to do all the "under hood" stuff; i.e. install the radiator, trans cooler, ignition box,, etc.; and there's a bunch of other stuff to do.
So it's a "work in progress".
I'm going to jump on it tomorrow & try to get it up & running for the mini-meet later this month.
If I don't get it going, I'll drive the GMC.

Y'all get the picture, I'm sure.

That's the plan for mine. A decent daily driver. Lowered (It has about a 3x4 drop, i'll do a small c notch and drop the rear one or two more inches), primed (actually it'll be either flat gray or flat black), warmed up 350 and do a shift kit in the tranny. I plan on keeping the interior simple. The interior is currently painted smoke gray, so i'm not sure if i'll change the color or not. Since the whole interior needs to be reupholstered i might just go ahead and change the color of the interior.

Here's a shot of Old Yeller before the new paint job. I haven't taken any since then because I'm still working on getting the project done. Maybe this weekend I can go some new photos of the new paint.
