65 rear axle U bolts

Is there a company that makes longer rear axle U bolts? I am getting ready to do my rear notch and want to install a 3" block under the axle. Thanks.....

I'm thinking I've seen them at regular auto Parts stores. If not one of the chains such as O'Reilly, AutoZone, etc., try one of the independents. They should be able to order them from their warehouse supplier.

Re: 65 rear axle U bolts

Look for a local spring shop, They can make you whatever you need on the spot. I just had a set made for my 72. I took a stock u-bolt with me and told them the length I wanted and they made them in like 3 mins. Cost me $24.00 with hardware. Hope it helps.

Re: 65 rear axle U bolts

DZL1 has the best solution for the u-bolts. Please reconsider going with 3" blocks though.

Anything more than 2" will put your U-bolts to close to the ground creating a dangerous element with your suspension.

Re: 65 rear axle U bolts

Thanks for the post guys. I am in the process of building my rear setup as we speak. Tonight I actually cut the stock suspension completely out. I guess I jumped the gun a little on this post....
